Review Probe the Humans
Go back to the days when aliens would kidnap humans
Author: Vlad Popa
Date: 09 Nov 2014, tested on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo
Neat graphics, decent game play
Repetitive, expensive upgrades and unlockables
Probe the Humans for Android portrays the user as an alien in need of subjects to experiment upon. And what better place for a space ship to acquire said subjects other than a small rural farm town where you can kidnap farm animals or people to your heart's content.
The game presents itself similar to endless runners. Players must control their spaceship while moving their tractor beam across the terrain with the goal of collecting coins and subjects for experimentation. All this while avoiding damage to your ship by moving the beam out of the way of cars, tractors and more. Smaller screen device users might encounter some difficulties in precision swipes, yet this is not a major issue that should concern most casual users. All the currency that the players collect in each run can be used to upgrade their flying saucers or unlock new ones.
The game has us playing in a 3D environment with more than decent graphics and a soundtrack fitting for an alien abduction scene. The environment however is rather dull and becomes tiresome after investing a bit of time in the game.
Overall Probe the Humans is a great game that doesn’t lack potential but there’s definitely some room for improvement. There’s no incentive to complete the objectives of the game, no upgrades or coins to reward you. It is a fun endless runner, purely for the sake of being fun.
