A lifeless game war strategy game

The sound effects and animations are humorous
Obscure gameplay with no real sense of direction, incredibly long timers
Modern War by GREE for Android is an extremely disappointing war strategy game. There is a vague tutorial that shows you how to click things to get supplies while you walk around an enemy base, seemingly invisible. I literally walked around and clicked on stuff to destroy it, right in front of the enemy base's leader, and there were zero repercussions.
I honestly have no idea what the point of the game itself is. You are left alone to build a base. Each building takes at least an hour to build, so be prepared to walk away for long periods of time. You don't build units either. When you upgrade the building - another hour long project - you automatically have another unit to use in a fight. These units are apparently only useful while attacking other player bases because that's the only time I've ever seen them.
You've only got a limited amount of times to attack other players, for menial rewards, before your resources are depleted and you're left waiting again. The only other action you can perform is going to the insurgent base where you basically farm insurgents for money. Every now and then some obscure objective states that it was completed, and before I know it I'm waiting again for more resources to build back up.
Make no mistake about it, Modern War by GREE is nothing but a waiting simulator. I'm struggling to find anything positive to say about it because there is little here that symbolizes a game.
