Endless configuration options, easy to setup
K-9 Mail for Android was one of the first attempts at creating a true, dedicated email client for the Android platform. At the time of its release it offered unparalleled configuration options, and of course, was the only real client you could use if you didn't use your gmail account. Let’s be honest, no one does - or ever has - used Android’s email app. It’s bad.
Nowadays there are other competitors that have hit the market, but K-9 still stays on top. While it hasn't been updated since it made the transition to holo, it still reigns king with how seamlessly it handles your emails.
When it comes down to email clients it really is the small things that make all the difference. For instance, K-9 allows you to completely configure the way emails are handled in the folder. Do you want to view the email addresses or names of your contacts? How many lines of the email do you want it to preview? You can even have different server configurations for each folder.
One of the strongest aspects of this email client is just how seamless it makes adding accounts. Set up is easy, and you’re able to configure every account to your exact preferences.
K-9 Mail is a free email client that is simply superior to Google’s current first-party email application, and continues to stay on top. Setup is easy and the configuration options are seemingly endless. The biggest complaint is that where it shines in function, it falls flat on its face in form.
