Easy to use, simple
Might not be useful for some
ShortPaste for Android is an extremely simple app with one purpose. To make links shorter. Does it get the job done? Yes, and it's the type of app you forget about but never delete from your phone.
The way ShortPaste works is that it shortens website links into links that look like “goo.gl/23939”. All you do is launch the app and then copy a link, paste it, and your link is now transformed into a shorter link. You don’t even really ever need to open the app again, unless you are interested in looking at the archive that shows your links, or if you want to change the settings of the app.
What can these shorter links be used for? Well for me, they don’t seem extremely useful. I guess in terms of sending links across places like to friends or to different devices it might appear cleaner. Sometimes my friends are suspicious of links that they cannot tell where it will lead them, and all of these looks will look like that to them without any apparent clues to the destination. If you have a really long link that is just a paragraph, this app would be pretty useful. Or maybe if you are trying to make a hyperlink you could use the links provided by this app to make things easier.
ShortPaste is an app that gets the job done by not adding any unnecessary inconveniences. I’m not sure how useful the app will be to everyone, but its a solid app with a purpose that achieves it.
