Planetary Guard: Defender is a game that places the user in the distant future as one of the planetary guards sworn to protect human colonies that stretch across the galaxy. Since we are not alone out there it’s only a matter of time until the human race and other intelligent life forms start a feud over the colonized planets.
The game is simple and fun as you orbit around a planet with a space tank ready to defend it and other objectives such as colonies or other ships orbiting the planet. The enemies will start swarming you in waves to put an end to you and the rest of the humans on that planet and claim it for themselves.
The game is controlled through two virtual joysticks on the left and right sides of the screen; one to maneuver the ship and the other one to aim and fire your weapons. The game ability to deploy defensive structures ads an extra layer to the gameplay and makes adds tower defense mechanics to the otherwise straightforward shoot’em up gameplay. The planet adds a distinct advantage as players orbit it and steer the enemies in the debris of their fallen to repel their attack
Planetary Guard: Defender for Android manages to captivate the user from the beginning and does so with its fast paced gameplay and engaging soundtrack that keeps players focused on the swarm of enemies that will surely have no mercy in their attack. The game offers a leader-board that allows users to compare high scores with other players; yet this loses some value due to the fact that it also features in-app purchases that put the paying user in front of free players.
