Quality animation, quality 3d graphics, addictive game play
Jet Run: City Defender for Android may just be one of the craziest games I’ve had the pleasure to play in a long time. If Space Invaders were to be made today, this game may be a good example of what it would end up looking like.
Placing the player in a large skyscraper-filled city, Jet Run takes players on a fast paced adventure in a laser-gun equipped space ship as is zips through busy streets and alleys. In a similar fashion to Temple Run, players in Jet Run can swipe up, right, left and down to dodge obstacles, collect coins and turn corners to avoid hitting a dead end.
However, unlike Temple Run, the city of Jet Run is overwhelmed with 3D space invaders, and oh boy, they are not happy. Luckily though, player’s space ships are equipped with a variety of different weapons that can be used to take out the 20th century space invaders.
Trying to collect coins, dodge obstacles and fight space invaders all at the same time can be incredibly challenging, and this is where the fun comes into play. If you aren’t having fun playing Jet Run, you should probably rethink what fun means, cause Jet Run is a blast.
Jet Run: City Defender is a great adaptation of the Temple Run genre - if it weren’t for the new gameplay elements of this title, it may have never been of interest to us, but it’s unique features make it stand out and even give it a chance to rival the original.
