Side-scrolling laser-shooting Autobird action
Breathtaking graphics, well-balanced difficulty, really addictive

Angry Birds Transformers for Android... Wow! This is my new favourite game. But don't expect another Angry Birds game; this one is totally different. There's more than meets the eye.
Forget careful aiming with a catapult, Angry Birds Transformers is a side-scrolling action game. Your giant avian robot runs along, while you fire their laser weapon at robot piggies; some of which are flying and firing back at you.
The pigs have built themselves the same kind of structures made of glass and wood and so on. But now these are 3D, so you might need to blast through blocks of glass to reveal a TNT. Flying parts from one structure can knock into other structures, which is really cool and satisfying. Sometimes the game seems to lag a bit when there's a lot of stuff flying about. But it's hard to distinguish lagging from deliberate slow motion- which happens during moments of intense action.
There are also objects that fall into your path, and in order to avoid them you need to transform. Your robot morphs into a vehicle, which moves along faster, but there's a time limit on transformation. You can play levels with a teammate, which is a cool way to see what characters are coming later in the game. You summon them for a limited time, and when you do there are big explosions in background; so you should time backup for when you are under heavy fire.
You don't need to knock out every piggie in a level (it may even be impossible). Instead, knocking out a certain number of pigs is the way that you unlock new characters. You literally unlock them, as they are being held captive by the eggbots, and then play an escape mission with them.
It's the significant differences between robots that keeps Angry Birds Transformers interesting. Heatwave (Big Red Bird) fires a laser canon that comes down on buildings from the sky, which takes a long time but does more damage. He also walks along much slower than the other Autobirds. Bludgeon fires three pulses that hit multiple targets.
The way that they have matched birds to Transformers characters is incredibly clever and funny. When they transform into cars and other vehicles, with their big angry bird heads still floating on top, it's just adorable. The story doesn't entirely make sense, with Autobirds and Deceptihogs fighting together against the pigs and Eggbots. But the coolness factor of this game is just off the charts.
