Review Tango Messenger, Video & Calls
A one-stop-shop for all your communication needs
Author: Brandon Girod
Date: 02 Jun 2017, tested on HTC One M8
Great connectivity, cross platform integration
Has useless feature just to have them
Tango Messenger, Video & Calls for Android is an app that was seemingly created to get you connected with people in just about every way possible. You can send SMS, MMS, video calls, and voice over internet protocol. It works pretty well, and now has several other features to boot.
Setup is relatively easy. It recognizes your phone number automatically and you basically go from there. You can access all of the contacts already built into the phone and you can choose to message them over the apps messaging service or even use it as the default SMS program. Facetime VoIP also work fairly well. I didn’t get too far into either features, but in my testing the call quality over both was on par with Skype and other similar services.
Although it is an older app, it has evolved to be much more than just a way to get in contact with your friends. It also has built in social integration through Facebook, so you can keep up with your friends inside the app. It’s also got popular news articles to read through.
Tango works really well and has the exact same notifications as other messenger apps like Facebook. It’s got a floating text notification that can be accessed from your homepage and any other application you’re in. It also has a quick reply from the same notification point. The VoIP and facetime features work well, and the app is cross platform so you can use it to communicate with Android and iOS users.
