Nice interface, modern design, completely free
Too much effort
Next Lock Screen for Android is a brand new lockscreen from Microsoft that displays any meetings you have coming up that day, as well as missed calls and text messages. It has a special feature that lets you join a scheduled conference call with a swipe. These features will be very appealing to people who have a lot of meetings and conference calls.
Handy toggles let you adjust some common settings without unlocking your phone (these are WiFi, Buetooth, tilt lock, torch and alarms). You can also have shortcuts to a number of commonly used apps, so that you can launch these straight from your lockscreen. You can customise which apps and toggles you have for three different profiles (At Home, At Work, On the go); and you can set a different wallpaper for each profile.
Next Lock Screen is well designed, and can save your time in the long run if you get into the habit of doing things straight from your lockscreen. It has features that will appeal to business types with a lot of meetings, who access their phone all the time just to see what they have coming up next.
For most people though, it's probably too much effort to set up the different profiles with what you need, and then switch between them. Also, it doesn't have any security options of its own, and if you use your own security lock you'll still need to go through it when launching one of the apps. At least you can toggle some settings, or turn the torch on quickly; though it could with a few more toggle options.
