Easy to use, very strong interface
Songs aren't very intuitive or unique
Pandora internet radio for Android is a popular music streaming application that lets you input your preferred artist, and then you can listen to that artist’s radio. It comes with a helpful alarm clock setting, and a sleep setting as well. The application has great social integration with a feed tab that lets you see what your friends are listening to or what they would like to recommend to you. It’s a good service if you aren’t picky with your music, or if you like the more mainstream music that the application tends to play for you in most playlists.
This Pandora application has a good interface. On the main tab are the stations that you have added. All you do is tab the plus icon, and then you can add a station. It keeps all of your searched stations and for this reason it’s easy to switch between them. Then there is the feed tab, where you can see what your friends have been doing. On the profile tab you can see the amount of songs you have liked, and how many friend’s feeds you are following.
Internet radio streaming services are usually a hit or a miss. It really depends on what type of music you like, and how picky you are with that music. It’s always a bit disappointing for me to listen to the stations because after the first song, I am usually unfamiliar with the song after it, or way too familiar with the song - in that I’m sick of it being played on the radio and being a top hit forever. I haven’t found much unique music I have liked with these types of applications.
With that said, I think Pandora has made a very good mobile application for their service. It’s very easy to use and contains a good amount of features. If you are looking for great music recommendations, I might recommend the service Last.Fm instead of Pandora.
Pandora is a very good choice for those in the market for a radio streaming application. It’s great for those who aren’t picky with their music and those who want a variety of stations, but perhaps not as intuitive or unique enough to warrant a switch from another service.
