CounterSpy for Android is a great side-scrolling game that combines action and stealth gameplay together to create a unique experience. Set against the background of a prelude to nuclear war, the story is shown from the perspective of an agent for the C.O.U.N.T.E.R. agency, that hopes to preserve world peace.
The stealth part of the gameplay revolves around sneaking through enemy bases, finding alternate paths to complete your objective. Hiding in the shadows, silently taking out your opponents and sneaking through air vents are all part of the job. On the other hand you have a more action packed approach to each level. Taking on a more direct approach during the levels involves taking out enemies in a more lethal fashion. Each level has plenty of secrets to discover, through which your character can be upgraded.
As far as the graphics go, the game has some interesting 3D graphics. While characters seem a bit blocky, it only adds to the allure of the game. Environments on the other side are highly detailed. Each level has plenty of details that continue to immerse the user deeply into the game’s world.
Overall CounterSpy is a great game that manages to combine two types of gameplay that work well together. It is a bit more complicated than the regular, more casual games we are used to seeing on smart devices, so it is a good thing that the tutorial teaches the user all he needs to know in order to be able to secure world peace. From the moment the tutorial is complete it falls to the user’s tenacity and attention to detail to ensure success.
