Functions slowly, lags a bit
SayHi for Android is essentially hookup app. Find your new soul mate, your next one night stand or just that tawdry lover; all with GPS tracking.
SayHi is loosely marketed as a messaging app. However, it makes no bones about it - this is a hookup app created to help you meet new "friends" and make new love connections. The app uses your gizmo’s GPS to show you who’s available nearby. There’s even a feature to offset your actual location for privacy purposes; a.k.a. I wanna cheat on my significant other, and I don’t want my one night stand to know exactly where I live. It's an interesting and potentially effective little feature, though I suspect most spouses will know you’re cheating based on intuition alone.
The interface is clean and simple. Just input your basic data, add a photo or graphic and populate your profile to your liking; or just add enough info to find a date and not get busted. I’m sure many people may even find true love via this app, but clearly that’s not how this is being marketed. I liked how the app lets you select the gender of the people you’re interested in finding; men, women or any; the app doesn't judge and versatility is part of the equation. So go ahead and start that new swinging lifestyle you've always dreamed of.
The app features various themes to customize the look of the interface. The selection isn’t huge but the alternate choices all appear to be free. The GPS functions are typically spotty, and I saw virtually no one on the maps near me, so I don’t think the app has a huge following in my end of the world.
SayHi functions well but feels oddly smarmy. I almost felt like I needed to wash my hands after testing it. But if finding a fling is your thing, this app might help you do it.
