Crashes, is lagging
FxCamera for Android is a free photo creativity and sharing app. It’s fun and easy, but does have some connectivity issues.
FxCamera is another photo tweak ‘n’ share style app. You can take photos using your gizmo directly from within the app or select photos from your local gallery. Once you have the photo you’d like to work with, the app offers a host of tweaks and enhancements. The interface is quite nice and minimalist. However, a lot of the tweaks and filters took a long time to render, and the app even locked up and crashed on me. Not good.
The app offers a comprehensive online directory where you can browse user submitted photos and narrow the field of interest with an array of categories. You can interact with other users and post comments to any photo. The load times for the online galleries suffered from repeated buffering issues and it often took a long time for gallery thumbnails to load. This absolutely impacts the enjoyment of this app because the repeated lags discourage browsing and discovery.
The minimalist design is modern and pleasing to the eye. There are a lot of menu choices and this app should be entertaining, save the hangs and glitches.
FxCamera is nicely done but still needs some work. The constant lags make browsing cumbersome and the shoddy renders make pic editing tedious. I’ll be curious to see how this one evolves over time. For now, it’s decent, but there are far better apps that do the exact same thing.
