Review Kickerinho

Vlad Popa
Simple controls, highly addictive
Ads are slightly intrusive
Kids always dream of being just like their heroes. Kickerinho is no different. He wants to be the very best at performing football (or soccer if you prefer) tricks and the only way to become the best is to practice.
Controls for the game are fairly simple. A tap on the lower left or right side of the screen triggers the corresponding foot and the more you keep the ball in the air, the better. If you kick too soon, then instead of the ball, all you will have kicked is air. If you wait too long then you risk kicking the ball forward instead of up, or having it land, this breaking the streak. Sounds easy enough, right?
Well here’s where it gets tricky. The ball will randomly switch sides, prompting you to switch between feet at random, or better yet, it will be launched into the air, prompting you to match it by projecting it higher using Kickerinho’s head.
Overall Kickerinho for Android is quite charming in its simplicity. It offers lots of amusement on a very simple premise, easy to learn controls, yet at the same time it manages to test and improve your focus, coordination and reaction times. The ads system is a bit of a nuisance as it pops up between tries, and more than once I ended up tapping the ad involuntarily, though this is just an annoyance and does not actually spoil the fun.
