Funny sounds, neat graphics, quality game play
Berry King for Android is another match 3 game, but this one features delicious looking berries and some cute animals.
Berry King has officially won me over on match 3 style games. I was starting to really get bored of all the clones, but this one is so cute and yummy looking, that I think I’m finally hooked. Berry King has a woodland forest theme and there’s cute bears, raccoons and a few other preciously sweet looking critters. Matches happen on the usual style game board with colorful and juicy looking berries. Just slide and swipe as per usual to make your matches.
The power ups are fun in this one and add a lot of pizzazz to scoring combos. Things get really interesting when you match 4 or more, and if you match a jar of jelly with the appropriate berry, sit back and watch the mayhem begin. If you take too long to find your matches, a little spider may swing on by or an inchworm will plod across the screen to let you know you’re moving even slower than he is. There’s an interactive map depicting all the levels as the animals float above in a hot air balloon.
The game plays well with entertaining graphics and animations. The sounds have a peaceful nature element to them. Everything is smooth and renders well. This game is just good clean fun. Kids would adore this one; I know I do.
Berry King is visual eye candy and the berries look delish. I wish I could spread them across toast and eat them all up while I play; yummy yummy in my tummy!
