Completely free, responsive game play, ads are not confusing
Only one track
No Brakes for Android is a racing game… well sort of… there’s no other cars to race against, there’s only one simple track, and you can drive around it in any direction. This is a birds-eye-view game with just two controls for streering left and right. The objective is to get the highest top speed you can, and avoid crashing into the sides. The controls are responsive, and it’s fun skidding round the track, but the game is quite limited by there only being one track. Unless you know someone that you can get really competitive with.
The music in No Brakes is oddly soothing, but it’s quite fitting with the pastel-colour, minimalist design of the game. The music goes with the elegant skidding of the smiley-face car as it glides around corners. You can do well in No Brakes by keeping turning to a minimum, and trying to reach the start of long straight bits at an already high speed.
I feel as though the car in No Brakes starts to accelerate more quickly, as you move up different speed levels, and the game changes color. You’ll find that you have to adjust the way you control the car, starting to turn earlier etc, as you go faster and faster. No Brakes for Android is quite soothing actually. The music will irritate eventually, but isn’t nearly as annoying as a lot of in-game music. I like No Brakes, but I can put it down quite easily when there are other games competing for my attention. No Brakes for Android is completely free, and the ads are unobtrusive, which is always nice to see.
