Review Udemy: Courses and Tutorials

Tariq Abdulla
8.8Excellent
Easy to download lectures, completely free, wide range of courses, chromecast support
Would be handy to sort by price or view only free courses
Udemy for Android brings you access to a vast collection of online courses. Unlike resources like Coursera or MIT Opencourseware, Udemy doesn't follow the traditional model of university credit, but appears more pitched towards training for professional skills. While in Coursers or edX courses are delivered by professors; in Udemy they could be delivered by anyone with the relevant knowledge, including trainers or industry professionals. So to make some quick generalisations: go to Coursers for computer science modules, but to Udemy to learn some Javascript or php. Coursera for Physiology, Udemy for Yoga lessons. You get the idea.
Just like in other online study resources, courses on maths, programming, web design, and photography feature highly in Udemy. There's also quite a lot of 'self help', fitness and language courses. There are tons of free courses available, but alao many that charge a fee - anything from $19 -$200.
The UI is clear, and it's a very handy feature to be able to download individual lectures or whole courses for offline viewing. It's also very easy to delete this content through the app when you no longer want it.
There's something for everybody in Udemy, so why not install it and download an interesting course, so that you can brush up on a language or re-learn some calculus next time you travel? Udemy for Android is the perfect antidote to the boredom of Airport lounges and train stations.
