Neat animation, exciting plotline, addictive game play, simple controls
The game is too short, monotonous game play
Kick the Critter - Smash Him! for Android is wildly fun and addictive, with an entertaining premise and cool graphics.
Kick the Critter - Smash Him! is simple to play yet big on fun. There’s this weird looking …um … critter. He looks like a little dinosaur or reptilian something or other. And the objective is to literally kick the daylights outta him, with this funky lookin’ trebuchet kind of thing with a Doc Marten boot on the end of it. Ok, maybe not Doc Marten, but you get the drift.
If you’re going to bother to do something, you ought to do it well. So to help you kick this critter good, there’s an aim and power meter. Just tap each one to set the trajectory and strength of the butt kicking, then watch that little critter soar. And I do mean soar. Most of this game takes place flying through the air. No, the critter doesn't have wings, but I bet his butt hurts from being kicked so hard.
There’s an array of weird creatures in the air with you. Just tap the screen to lurch at them and make them pop. You can also collect gemstones that are just dangling there for no apparent reason. Nope, none of this really makes any sense, but cannabis is becoming legal in more and more places now, so that might have helped a tad in the development of a concept here. Or, the developers are just naturally kooky. Either way, fun game.
The controls work really well; just a few screen taps to make the magic happen. The graphics are colorful, comical and wildly entertaining. The animation is good, with no real sputters. And the sounds are appropriately goofy.
Kick the Critter - Smash Him! is weird yet oddly satisfying to play. I don’t know what the inspiration for this game was, but I’m hooked and curious to see what these guys come up with next.
