Funny sounds, quality graphics
Old 4:3 aspect ratio, doesn't make much sense, challenging controls, not interesting game play, boring game play
Airline Tycoon Deluxe Demo for Android is a bit of a conundrum. The graphics look great, but the entire presentation feels pedestrian and dated; right down to the old 4:3 screen format.
Airline Tycoon Deluxe Demo certainly plays like a demo; if whatever’s going on here can even be called 'playing.' Basically, you are like an airport concierge and your job is to mull about the airport, looking to assist travelers. There’s ticket counters, duty free shops, and all sorts of locations to explore. The game environment is actually inviting and colorful, with some pretty good graphics and animation. If only there were something interesting to do.
I guess this game is still in development, because the demo has virtually nothing interesting going on. Essentially, you can wander around the airport and look at stuff, but if there’s anything more to it, then I completely missed it. Games that don’t readily make sense as to what the point and objective is have sorely missed the mark. I think the presentation is interesting and humorous at times; however, the play itself is virtually nonexistent.
Airline Tycoon Deluxe Demo is a complete dud in its current form. Wandering around airports is never fun for anyone, so creating a game where you do just that, is about as dull as it gets. Maybe if they added cranky TSA agents and belabored security checkpoints this game would have some intrigue. As it is, it’s about as much fun as a real airport; lots of bustle, with headache inducing ambient noise. Blah!
