Can be played in both portrait and landscape modes, amusing soundtrack, can be played without in-app purchases
Childish design, monotonous game play
Magic Kitchen – Match 3 game for Android is a wonderful and colorful adventure in which you go traipsing through a magical garden and collect fruits and vegetables by playing match three games. Add power-ups and cutesy graphics and you have a rather unique puzzle game.
In terms of gameplay it is rather common, you swipe vertically or horizontally in order to create rows or columns of at least three of the same type. As you progress you collect all sorts of power-ups that you can use in order to create more useful combinations. In each mini-game you must collect a set of certain vegetables in order to progress. The game spices things up by adding different layouts, making combos more difficult, and the game more fun.
The art style is very cute, but well detailed. Every aspect of the game is vibrant, in a pleasant way. The entire game is fairly amusing, from the cartoonish graphics to the wide eyed main character and even the plants with faces. They are all designed to amuse and entertain. It even has an amusing soundtrack to go with the theme.
Overall Magic Kitchen may seem like it was initially designed for children, however don’t get fooled, some of the later levels have proven to be quite a challenge even for more mature or experienced players and has proven to be a great timekiller on several occasions.
