Interesting plot, simple controls
Is lagging, very common, bores you really quickly, mediocre graphics, low quality animation, difficult to play without in-app purchases
Zombie Defense for Android is a little rudimentary in its current form. The app shows potential and is solidly playable, but lacking in refinement. This is your basic shooter style game; you against zombies.
Zombie Defense is a new twist on tower defense style play. You are the leader of the human militants trying to save the rest what remains in this desolate, apocalyptic town. The zombies have taken over, and your mission, is to not be eaten and converted into a mindless zombie.
Each round takes place at a different locale. Basically, you’re trying to hold your ground as the onslaught of creepy zombies approach. Take cover behind obstructions, fire weapons, toss grenades and add soldiers to your team to help you keep the zombies at bay.
There are tons of upgrades, from weaponry to lethal soldiers, but most of it will remain virtually inaccessible unless you’re willing to spend money. This would be fine, in and of itself, but the game isn't dynamic nor interesting enough to invest much time or money into it.
The controls are ok; just touches and taps. You can move your soldiers to different vantage points. And upgrades give their weapons better range, which helps when there’s a cluster of zombies approaching.
The graphics are very basic. All the action takes place from above with very limited and crude zoom controls. The graphics look better far away, so maybe that’s why the zoom is so inadequate.
Zombie Defense has potential but is far to underdeveloped to merit much time or any money. It’s decent fun, just not very good fun. Kids might like it because the play is simple and uncomplicated. Mature gamers will get bored quick.
