Incomplete database, lags a bit
Leafly for Android is a one of a kind app, offering detailed info on medical marijuana strains, dispensaries and prescribing doctors.
Leafly is fantastic. This is one of the best apps that offering information like this. The layout is nearly identical to the website and works quite well overall. You can locate info in several ways; just select specific search parameters, browse all available strains, or only view strains available in your area, with info on the dispensaries selling them. The menus are colorful and easy to recognize on sight alone as hybrid, indica or sativa. Read user reviews, scientific data and view pictures. There’s a lot of user participation and helpful info.
The doctor and dispensary section is decent, though I prefer my personal doctor. However, more complete sources of information exist for prescribing doctors and dispensaries. I think the main strengths of Leafly are the pictures, reviews and strain specific data.
The main page features interactive tiles that look like a chemistry periodic table; obviously with the intent to highlight the medicinal use of these strains. Transitioning from one page to the next does lag at times; as does the main page with all the tiles on it. However, the info is comprehensive and presented nicely. The app often doesn't have info on the various strains available locally, so it’s a bit of an incomplete reference, but I think that might improve as legalization becomes mainstream.
Leafly is flawed, yet remains an excellent resource on medical cannabis. There aren't many apps like this out there, so it’s a definite must-have if you have a legitimate need and want to make sense of what’s what before you buy.
