Quality 3D graphics, dynamic game play, simple controls, sophisticated physics
Lags a bit, kills your battery, bores you really quickly
World Football Cup Real Soccer for Android is a fun trick shot kicking game. The game is simple yet engaging, but you’ll soon reach the crossroads of boredom and money; do I spend more to keep playing more of the same, or decide I've had enough?
World Football Cup Real Soccer looks great. It takes place on a soccer field in a stadium filled with fans who clearly have nothing better to do in life, because they've all gathered and are excited just to watch you take some practice shots against an empty goal. Well, not a totally empty goal. Within the goal posts are bull’s eye targets in different corners of the net. The objective is to kick out each target with precision. As the game progresses, the targets get trickier and obstructions are added.
The controls are very good. Just swipe your finger to the corresponding target you want to hit. You get a set number of kicks to clear all the targets. However, I soon discovered that hitting the targets is all too easy. Just slide your finger slowly from the ball to the target and let go; then sit back and watch the kicker blast the ball exactly where you pointed. It’s far too easy to hit the targets, each and every time; even with all the obstructions in the way.
The game ran my CPU very hot for what little is happening on screen. The graphics are good and go for 3D realism. And the sounds were entertaining and appropriate.
World Football Cup Real Soccer will be fun for any die hard soccer fan. However, I question the ability to continue playing without spending money. And the problem with that is, the play isn't all that interesting or challenging to justify spending anything. It's fun, just not for long.
