Perfect soundtrack, quality animation, quality graphics, quality game design
Glitches, boring game play, animation is a bit laggy
PES Manager for Android is more of an interactive fantasy league than a game you actually play. The action is exciting, but if you’re looking to participate and play soccer on Android, the CN Superstar Soccer would be a better choice.
PES Manager has an interesting premise. You are the manager of your own soccer dream team. Recruit real players as you build your team. The graphics are almost like collecting and trading bubble gum cards. Choose your name, pick your uniform and color scheme and hit the field.
After all the picking is done, I was a little surprised how little there was to do in this game but watch. The action is really good and shoots for realism. The play is also surprisingly sophisticated and engaging, but it’s a little like watching a virtual game, not really playing one. It's fun enough, and true soccer addicts can use this in the off season to get their fix. I guess I was just expecting more.
When you open the app for the first time, it will go through a belabored download of additional data. It uses a lot of system resources and I did experience several lags. But overall, it performs pretty well and looks really good.
PES Manager is an interesting way to watch more soccer, but isn't much of a game. It all just depends what you’re looking for. Fans will certainly appreciate the attention to detail here.
