Visually appealing, financially draining

Lots of settings, interesting functionality, stylish design
Isn't worth the price, is lagging, kills your battery
GO Weather EX for Android is a comprehensive weather app and widget. I love all the cool themes and extended forecast, however, most all of the added functionality will cost extra and a lot of it is ala carte.
GO Weather EX has a very nice interface; it’s very clean and modern, and it’s actually quite user friendly. The app comes with 6 different sized widgets, all of which can be customized with a huge selection of colorful and fun looking themes. The problem is, almost all of these awesomely cool themes require a separate download and install, plus, pretty much all of them will cost you money.
The stock app is pretty basic, however, I like how it displays and all the added details. Forecasts are easy to read and look good. The paid version adds multiple time zones and weather locations, plus it has an expanded 10 day forecast. The free version does feature push ads, which definitely impact performance and drain the battery. The interface is inviting but hangs a lot, likely due to the ads. Essentially, the free app is just a barely functional teaser for the paid app. However, this one might be worth the purchase price, if the added functionality is important to you.
GO Weather EX is visually dynamic and quite nicely presented. However, the free app is really just a money pit for the paid version and all the custom themes. It functions well and has a host of useful features, but there are a lot of apps out there like this, and if I have to pay, this isn't the one I’d spend my money on, simply because it’s greedy and will never stop trying to up-sell me more features and functionality. It's good, not great and not worth the ongoing expense.
