Functions quickly, nice interface
Can't view disk space
OneDrive for Android integrates all of your Windows based documents into one, easy access interface. The app even features a lite version of Microsoft Word for quick document creation and editing that's all saved to the cloud.
OneDrive is new for me. I'm a heavy Dropbox user and have never really had the need to migrate over to Microsoft's OneDrive. But I recently setup an account, so was curious to try out this companion app. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the ease and functionality. For those who aren't aware, OneDrive is Microsoft's cloud service. Just store all your documents to it, and they'll be instantly accessible on any device via the OneDrive folder on your computer, or companion app.
The interface is very simple and clean. It actually looks a lot like the folder view of any document folder on your desktop, and working with files is very much a Word based experience. Once you open a file, you can edit text, paragraphs and do basic formatting with ease. The app even features a few advanced word processing features, like a search and replace function. After you're done tweaking, the document is saved to the cloud and instantly available on other devices.
The app offers all the standard document share and privacy settings, and you can easily copy and rename files too. All functioned quickly and felt like a desktop experience, not a pared down mobile app. The settings interface also lets you view your available disk space so you can keep track of your usage.
The biggest flaw for me with this app was the camera upload feature; Dropbox is faster and syncs to the cloud and other devices near instantly. However, OneDrive was more sluggish and just flat out took longer. Plus, it does not seem to support automatic screenshot uploads.
OneDrive was actually a pleasure to use. It offers something Dropbox does not, but then is lacking in other areas. Overall, i really like it and will definitely keep using it.
