Racing Rivals for Android is my new favorite drag race game. The look goes for animated realism and the cars are shinier than candy apples. Yup, this app is trying to sell cars, not just a killer gaming experience. But the commercial plugs are just fine and dandy with me, thanks to the exceptional game play. This app speaks to the little boy in all of us that just wants to drive fast and furious.

Racing Rivals is really drag race gaming at its best. The graphics are truly artistic, slick and stylishly sharp. The game plays like a well shot Hollywood action film, with cool angles and money shots that really sizzle. The cars all look fantastic, with colors that are rich and textured. Races take place on city streets with a polish and flash that reminds me of first season Miami Vice.

Like other drag race games, there’s a garage with plenty of upgrades that may require a zero interest financing offer on to truly enjoy. But it all just adds to the flash and bang. These games are always exciting when done right, and this one is exceptional.

Controls are great. Wait for the green light, then hit launch. Watch the tachometer and visual feedback for cues when to shift; precision is rewarded with roaring speeds and lightening times. The photo finish, slow motion feature is super cool. And if all that ain't enough, the game features head to head live racing against online opponents. Or just race against the computer.

Racing Rivals truly is a great racing game. Love the look, the cars and the seat of your pants thrill ride if offers. This one is a blast.
