Nun Attack Origins: Yuki for Android really made me raise an eyebrow at first blush. Am I the only guy that thinks a nun in a miniskirt is… well… odd seems like safest choice of words. Think Flying Nun meets Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. It’s fast paced and actually a lot more fun than I expected.
Nun Attack Origins: Yuki goes straight for the jugular from frame 1. You are a nun (ha! Now that’s a sight to see) and you’re in a remote village doing battle against heathenous bad guys. Are they really heathenous? Who knows, but it sounds better that way. Personally I think it might be more heathenous to put a nun in a miniskirt, but that’s just me. (Perhaps this is a fantasy for some that I just don’t understand.)
The controls are quite good. Just touch the ninja nun and slide your finger toward the target you want to take out. You’ll see a line drawn from the nun to where your finger is pointing on the screen. If the line is green, you’re clear to attack; if the line is red, you’re toast. When you decide the time is right, release your finger and watch the flying nun go to work. I love the slow motion replay that shows a close up of the nun’s martial artistry as she kicks the crap out of these bad guys; all without wrinkling her habit.
The sounds are lots of fun and add to the game without being annoying. The animation is excellent, as are the graphics. This game has a lot of polish and refinement and is expertly done.
Nun Attack Origins: Yuki has taught me, yet again, never to judge a book by its cover; even a holy one. The game is fast and frenzied and should provide hours of nun ninja fun. You go, girl! I'm still only giving it a 9 though, as I'm struggling with the quandary of a nun in a miniskirt; but that's my issue. Great game.
