Addictive, quality soundtrack, quality animation, quality 3d graphics
Expensive to play fully, uses a lot of system resources
OTTTD for Android is possibly the best tower defense game I've played, even rivaling my previous fave, Jelly Defense. Fun, innovative and pure eye candy.
OTTTD is a gamer’s dream. The graphics are kick ass, the sounds are spot on, the action is intense and there are a lot of cool twists that take this tower game to the next level. I love how the towers are constructed. Just tap one of the available circular pads to open a menu of 4 different tower choices, select one, and a futuristic, robotic looking thing literally drops from the sky and lands with an animated thud. The enemies look like something out of a Tim Burton movie; deranged, demented and strange creatures that are fun to blast and explode in a splatter of alien flesh.
The controls are simple taps and everything is responsive and smooth. This is truly a quality presentation and not just overblown hype. Like every tower defense, there’s something to protect and pathways leading to it that the enemy tries to exploit. Just fill up the battle environment with all the towers you can, and then upgrade them to bad ass proportions. The animation is comically fun and looks like part terminator with a dash of Buzz Lightyear. The weaponry is high impact and pops with color.
The biggest downside I see are the upgrades. You want to trick everything out to the max, but that will cost some real coin. But it is cool, that’s for sure. I ran into no glitches other than a warm battery with a decent drain after relatively short play.
OTTTD is lots of fun to play; genuinely addictive and super cool. This is one of the few that's truly worthwhile.
