Innovative new taxi type system

One of the few apps of it's kind
Competes with Lyft, expensive
Uber for Android is an innovative taxi type system that is sweeping across the nation, whether cab corporations like it or not. The application works within a driver network, where you can instantly call a driver to pick you up and take you to your location. Payment works within the application via digital means, and it even includes tipping. The driver is there simply to drive and be your company. It’s rumored that they even open your doors. How nice!
Uber seems to pride itself on its complicated system that seems simple for the user. You create an account, set up your payment information (which can be done through Paypal or Google Wallet even) and then Uber verifies you through your phone number. You can change these details later on if you so choose. Then, you simply call a cab and you get a text message telling you when your cab will arrive. Then the driver picks you up and takes you to your destination.
In some ways, Uber is very controversial because of how well it works. It makes calling a taxi seem complicated, especially if you are calling a cab in a location that doesn’t have much cabs frequenting the area. The application also lets you review your drivers, see their pictures, and makes the experience much more personal and easy because of the way payment works.
While Uber does innovate, it hasn’t been all poppies and roses. There has been talk about Uber being unsafe. Theoretically anyone could claim to be an Uber driver, although the system does require the driver to be connected through the network. For the dangerous Uber poser, they would have to cycle through people actually looking for a Uber driver.
Uber is first and foremost service, and the application for this service works well. It’s easy to use and straightforward. I would recommend the application to those in need of a ride.
