6.8Good

Powerful customization and tweaks but terrible menu presentation
Lots of settings, various features, minimalist design
Non-intuitive interface, old fashioned design, needs to be elaborated, glitches

Nova Launcher for Android is a highly customizable app launcher, drawer and screen organizer. The functionality is great, the presentation needs work.
Nova Launcher offers a host of customizable features that allow you to twist and tweak almost every aspect of your Android’s home screens and related activities. I love the ability to set the number of screens your home screen can occupy, and adding or removing grids is quite easy. You can fully tweak icon themes, layouts and colors too. And after you are done making all these exhaustive adjustments, the app can even export your settings so you have them backed up, just in case. This app is a control freak's dream.
The app functions fairly well; going to the home screen does lag more than the default launcher, but it’s nothing serious. The biggest hindrance of this app is the terrible menu presentation; it’s very static and old fashioned. Yes, we’re just talking menus and selections here, but the options and interface are nestled so deep, that it’s nearly impossible to remember where anything is located. Everything looks the same and virtually nothing stands out. It's very pedestrian, and results in a lot of redundant touching and searching just to find what you’re looking for. It wastes a lot of time and simply isn't very user friendly. Tossing everything at us, including the kitchen sink, is of little use to anyone if it isn't presented in a clean and inviting way.
Nova Launcher has a host of features and functionality that most users will love, provided they can sift through and dig out form under the mess the developers have given us. These menus need a serous overhaul. Ironic how this app can help you tweak most anything on your Android; except itself, which is what needs the most tweaking of all here. This app has promise, but the presentation is a disaster.
