Cool, funny, great controls, polished
Needs more levels, could get boring
Soccer Rally 2 for Android is just goofy fun. Very silly premise with innovative execution and one of the best driving controls I’ve played on an app.
Soccer Rally 2 has no semblance of reality, and that’s all good. The game plays out from an aerial POV, looking down on an urban obstacle course of sorts. Drive your car around a parking lot for training. Afterwards, you’re playing on soccer fields, both urban and earthen, depending on the level. The game’s title is as on the nose as it gets. This is part rally race, part soccer. There’s a great big’o soccer ball and you drive your car back and forth, bumper bumping the ball into the net. The shots alternate from one net to the other on the left and right sides of the field. Where else can you play soccer with a car? Nowhere else but this app, my friend.
The controls are the best part of the game. There’s a little joystick kind of steering wheel on the left and an accelerator on the right. Just press and hold the accelerator while sliding and thumbing the joystick. The rally cars really respond well to the controls and you can do spinouts and skids; very accurate and calibrated well. You can go fast without loosing precision. Fun, fun, fun!
Soccer Rally 2 is an interesting twist on both soccer and rally racing. There are plenty of upgrades to keep your interest and siphon your wallet of a few loose bills. But there’s some cool cars to choose from and this is a thoroughly fun and original twist on a rally driving app.

Local multiplayer, great gameplay, innovative
Gets stale if played for too long at a time
SoccerRally World Championship looks like something out of a Top Gear episode. It is based on an idea that is quite unique: what would happen if you combined fast cars, soccer (or if you prefer football) and a nice little music collection. The result is an awesome game that promises a lot of enjoyment both alone and with friends.
The game starts simple enough; you are given your first car and some basic training. You are put into a small field with a giant soccer (or football) and an opponent and you must score as many goals on your opponent in the time limit by driving into the ball, and propelling it into the goal markers, all the while preventing your adversary from scoring. The more you score and win, the more money you earn in order to buy new cars, upgrade them and customize them. There is a local head to head multiplayer mode, where you and another player each hold on to a side of the device and try to win in a deadly friendship straining competition. Between games you can purchase new cars, each one with its own performance, upgrade their performance or customize your vehicle with a lot of options that you can combine to obtain that perfect look.
The graphics are great. It’s very obvious that a great deal of detail has been put into the game as everything from the main menu and the cars to the field itself are well detailed. There is even an in game music player filled with nice songs that you can play, or select the ones you like and the others will no longer be played while you are enjoying a fun game of SoccerRally.
It’s so nice to see games that are well executed, and offer plenty of features, nice graphics and a multiplayer mode that can be used to compete against friends. The idea may be unconventional, but bottom line is that mixing fast cars and soccer (football) works and there are plenty of tournaments and challanges to enjoy the game in.
