Functions quickly, convenient interface, minimalist design

Derived mainly from the stock calendar application on android, Today Calendar is an app fairly better than the stock in terms of looks and overall functionality of the application. It is also conveniently sized almost the same as that of the stock calendar app, hence consuming the same amount of RAM and battery as the stock application would.
You can choose from five views: days, weeks, months, agenda, and month full, with the default view as the month view. Clicking on a specific day in the month view allows you a glimpse of the events of the entire day in the window below (month view occupies ¾th of the screen) and you can add a new one with the ‘+’ button given. However, this is only a shortened view of the actual event window as you can only set the name of the event, as compared to the actual event window which you can open by clicking on menu and then on ‘new event’.
Another distinct feature that sets this app apart from the original calendar application is the presence of the today calendar widget which, according to the developer, is ‘a result of 6 months of improvements and optimizations’, and is actually a stand-alone widget which is now integrated inside the application itself.
And I do apologize for keeping you hooked up to all the features of this application for this long, because this is just the trial version available for 14 days, after which you will have to buy today calendar pro for $1,5.
So, apart from the themed interface, great widgets, and some little extra features, today calendar is similar to the stock calendar app and is a great alternative too, but only if you are willing to pay for the pro version after trying out the 14-day trial.
