Functions quickly, neat design
No significant shortcomings
Looking for a smart new launcher that’ll lend your Android device an elegant and stylish look? Check out Mini Launcher that attempts to replicate the pure Android 4.4 experience on your Android 4.0+ device.
Starting off with the homescreen, which is similar to the KitKat interface, you’ll find the app drawer which features the list of apps and widgets in separate pages with a top-right button that provides options for checking out the app manager, the mini launcher settings and other basic settings. It is worth mentioning that the icons also change, with the logo of hangouts replacing the logo for SMS app, since hangouts are the default hub for messaging in KitKat.
This app also comes packed with a few wallpapers in the wallpaper package, and you’ll also find a host of settings available to tweak the interface according to your convenience too, including some unique ones such as importing layout of apps in the homescreen of the previous launcher which works perfectly, but with a slight bug where ¼th part of the screen turns black after scrolling to the extreme left.
Apart from that, a very useful sidebar extension (downloadable separately) is also provided that gives the launcher a real good look and feel.
You’ll also find a simple hide feature that allows you to virtually get rid of apps you don’t really use, and a rich scroll effect to brag about.
Overall, Mini Launcher is a great must-have for your Android device if you’re looking for some customization, with the only chink in the armor lying in the bug, but otherwise rocking in every feature.
