A retro style side scrolling runner game that kids would love

Decent animation, decent game play, one-finger controls
Very common, monotonous game play, low quality graphics
Yoo Ninja! For Android is a side scrolling runner game. The action is fast and the levels are interesting, but it all gets a little old fast.
Yoo Ninja! Almost plays like an old arcade classic, but is far to underdeveloped and unrefined to really be in that class of game. The play is your basic side scroller. You are a little ninja and you have to run through the maze as fast as you can. But since you’re a ninja, it’s not just a simple matter of running; you also have to avoid obstacles in your path, and the only way to do that, is to invert yourself and run on the ceiling. As blocks appear in your path, just tap the screen to invert and run upside down and avoid them. But be careful, whether you’re running upside down, or right side up, you could fall off the edge and die. And just to keep things interesting, you’re also being chased by 2 criss-crossing ninja stars; if you lag behind, they will impale you in bloody fashion.
The controls worked well and are responsive. It’s just screen taps to invert from upside down to right side up. The running happens automatically, unless you run into an obstruction, which stops you dead in your tracks and gives the chasing ninja stars a chance to impale you. So you really need to keep moving.
The game rendered well but the graphics are a little crude and uninspired. The overall game presentation needs refinement but didn't seem to overly tax my system. Everything is competent, just uninspired.
Yoo Ninja! Is relatively fun for a little while, but I got bored with it fast. I think kids will love it, and the easy controls assure they can have a good time with this one.
