Review Follow the light
Follow the light, avoid the darkness
Author: Enozia Vakil
Date: 14 May 2017, tested on HTC One X
Atmospheric soundtrack, unusual plot, quality game play
Too few levels, low quality animation
If you remember the good old days of the game called Bounce, Follow the Light is something you might want to have a look at.
Follow the Light follows a similar gameplay but with a slightly different concept. The mysterious music echoing against void, coupled with the dark theme does give this game a creepy feel.
The options provided on the start screen are pretty straightforward - the right panel allows you to choose between different modes, customize the light made by the ball, and try out the new levels by the developer. The left panel has the option for rating and sharing the game.
The objective requires the player to lead the shining light ball towards a figure that looks like a wormhole or something whilst avoiding the black energies and using the white energies to his own advantage. The gameplay is quite good, with upgrades available to increase the size, speed, light or jump of the ball after completing a level. There’s also this advantage which lets you slow down time for once in a level so that in the slow motion the player can take appropriate decision.
Overall, Follow the Light is a game that brings the classic feeling of bounce back to our big screen smartphones, although missing out on extra features, but still standing good on its own with great music, gameplay and challenging puzzles.
