Quality 3D graphics, exciting plot, exciting game play, quality physics
Challenging controls, inconvenient to play on a small screen
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for Android is outstanding. It definitely plays better on a tablet than phone. The controls are easy but intricate and there's a lot of nuance. You can zoom and examine the environment in all directions. And yes, you can spin webs, swing from building to building, leap and even climb up, down and all around the sides of buildings. In case you haven't caught on yet - this game is effing cool!
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 plays so much better than I expected it to. I thought it would be more difficult or not as fleshed out as it is. Wrong! It's like jumping into the comic strip and you're thrust into a crime scene, have to beat up bad guys and that's just the opening sequence. The animation is top notch, entertaining and true to the Spidey we all know and love.
Swinging from buildings is surprisingly exhilarating. Climbing up the sides of buildings is great. Jumping form one rooftop to another is equally fun. The virtual joystick has pinpoint accuracy. And there's several options to clobber the bad guys. Naturally there's oodles of upgrades, alternate suits and power ups that can cost. But there's plenty to play as is. Personally, I prefer traditional looking Spidey.
ResumeThe Amazing Spider-Man 2 is an awesome app. Discover clues, follow leads, beat the tar outta bad guys and save the day. For less than half the price of a movie ticket, there's a lot of fun to be had here.
