TuneIn Radio for Android is my favorite radio app. Basically, it places most all of the world’s best radio stations at your fingertips.

TuneIn Radio is a fantastic way to discover new music or just listen to your favorite station. I absolutely love that virtually every major radio station form basically every country in the world is available to listen to. The pro version not only removes in-app ads, but also adds the ability to record live broadcasts so you can listen to them on your own schedule.

The search tool is a wonderful way to find your favorite artists and even stations dedicated exclusively to their music. So if you’re in the mood to hear a particular artist, you can find what stations around the world are playing live, right now; or you can even find stations that play nothing else but your fave artist; fantastic.

The interface is well laid out, though perhaps lacks a little modernism. I love how stations show the cover of the album to the song they are playing, along with suggestions of other stations and music you may also like. This is live radio, so you will hear commercials and news reports too; basically everything you’d hear if you were using a radio. However, there are a lot of user generated stations too. Be sure to save your favorite stations for easy access.

TuneIn Radio is by far the best radio app I've tried and it is well worth buying the full version to gain the added functionality and remove in-app ads. The app also features a ‘car mode’ which reduces the interface to just a few easy buttons for operation while driving. All around great app. The recording feature is a dream.
