9.0Excellent

Organize and discover stories and online content
Powerful functionality, nice interface, modern design, completely free
Lags here and there, crashes from time to time

Flipboard for Android is your one stop virtual periodical. Read stories, set categories and discover content that interests you most, all in one convenient place.
Flipboard has a very innovative presentation. It’s setup to look like a virtual magazine. There are a host of categories to choose from; news, politics, entertainment, science, pretty much anything and everything. Just select the categories that most interest you and Flipboard will display the top articles in a pictorial and text interface where you can browse and read your selected topics.
The interface is innovative. Just touch the red navigation icon and swipe your finger left or right to flip through the pages of your board. I love how the pages actually look like you are flipping over tiles or board; hence the name. The search tool works quite well and I was able to find exhaustive results for most any search string I tried. Just touch to read or add to favorites.
Most of the app functions relatively quickly and smoothly, however, I did experience lags and hangs here and there when flipping from one board to the next. You're constantly slowed down by buffering and load times. Also, there’s no effective way to zoom up on articles or make text larger without going into the settings page and universally changing the size of everything. I also had some trouble with flipping from board to board; sometimes the controls were spotty and glitchy.
Flipboard is an innovative and interesting way to make reading online content more dynamic. You can even view videos and connect via social media. All that for the unbelievable price of totally free! Though I assume magazines like People will offer reduced content in favor of promoting their subscriptions. However, this is a fun app with some very cool functionality.

Tis app is just what I need since I am now using a Nook but still get my books using this app.  Now people tell me I must down load something today or I will not be able to get any more books using my Kindle app.  All I can find is about the Kindle, nothing says anything about the Kindle app.  HELP

What are they saying you need to download? The Kindle app works for everything. I'm not sure what those people are talking about.
