360 Mobile Security for Android is a fully featured internet security suite that is completely free, though it does feature some aggressive advertising. But hey, nothing is ever really ‘free’.
360 Mobile Security is a pretty comprehensive system scanner and app manager with the aim of offering one-stop, all around protection and cleanup. Just click the scan button to analyze a host of system processes, return a list of potential threats and easy one-click fixes. There’s even a lock screen feature for automatic cleanups. The call and & SMS blocker could help cut down on spam or contact from that annoying ex. And the built in AppBox gives recommendations of the latest apps and games you might be interested in. Like most security suites, 360 also features anti-theft capability, so if you ever lose your gizmo, you can locate or erase it remotely.
App management is convenient and system scans were relatively fast. I like the visual feedback because it’s clean and inviting. Threats are clearly displayed and explained, along with details on what the fix is, and why you should care to implement it. Just be aware that 360 is handling all the hot fixes, so if you uninstall the app, any fixes you applied are uninstalled too.
The floating toggle is nice; it hovers unobtrusively on your screen with instant feedback so you can always stay on top of your device’s security. It may be a little overkill, but it’s still handy. The app functions smoothly overall and I experienced no real hiccups, other than the aggressive advertising.
360 Mobile Security is hard not to like. The modern interface and clean presentation make it a pleasure to use, though some of the features may be redundant. However, a good security blanket has its comforts.
