Review Papa Pear Saga
Great fun for puzzlers of all ages - simple yet entertaining
Author: Jay Feldman
Date: 15 Jun 2017, tested on ASUS Nexus 7 (2013)
Unusual game design, lots of levels, addictive game play, one-finger controls
Is lagging, mediocre graphics
Papa Pear Saga for Android is an unusual and weird little game. It’s a puzzler, similar in a way to Breakout style games, but with some weird and goofy twists.
Papa Pear Saga is a fun game if you enjoy simple puzzler type strategy games. In this one, there’s a canon at the top of the screen, and 4 goofy looking barrels at the bottom of the screen. Along the center of the screen, is a maze type obstacle course that changes with each level. Your mission, is to shoot Mr. Papa Pear out of the canon and send him rebounding, Plinko style, though the maze, ultimately rebounding into one of the barrels below. Score enough points to win the round and advance to the next level.
Blasting Mr. Papa Pear out of the canon and sending him rebounding and ricocheting everywhere is fun and entertaining. He's very bouncy. Aiming is easy, just slide your finger on the screen to point the canon where you want, then tap the screen once to send Papa Pear flying.
There are power ups and multipliers as the game advances and each level brings a new and interesting maze to conquer. The controls are easy and responsive. The graphics are colorful and the sounds are cute and entertaining. The menus and app structure are also nicely developed.
Papa Pear Saga would be a great game for kids and adults. This one is just good clean fun with a lot of different levels to conquer; play at your own pace, or as your interest or boredom dictates.
