Duolingo is a highly-educative application for Android devices that lets you learn one of the five languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, or Italian) efficiently and hassle-free via solving language tasks that include listening, writing, and reading.

The key advantage of this app is that is lets you learn languages in a form of game completely for free. All questions are presented in an exciting way that helps you remember faster whatever it is: vocabulary, grammar, or syntax.

Interface and capabilities

The first thing the app will ask you to do is to choose the language that you want to learn. If English is not your native tongue, you will be able to choose between some extra options by tapping on More button. When the language is chosen, you will be able to either start from the basics or scroll down and tap on Take a Shortcut to begin completing more difficult tasks.

The tasks will get more and more challenging as you advance in your studies. For example, at first you will only need to choose a picture associated with this or that word, listen to a word and then type it in, or translate something. But after that you will be given more interesting tasks that will include several correct answers and specific technical or scientific vocabulary. To help you learn more, almost every word in the app is pronounced out loud for you.

The app also features score and friend system and gives you four lives for completing every task.
