Great 8-bit retro graphics, sound music design, lots of character in the writing
I’m not exactly sure when clicker games because so labor intensive, but there is a definite trend that seems to be growing in the Android landscape. Tap Tap Dig - Idle Clicker Game for Android is an unreleased clicker that seems to be heading in the right direction, so far. As with all reviews of unreleased games, this review is only a reflection of the game in the state that it was reviewed and is not reflective of the final product.
As a clicker, it’s not real surprise behind the game’s major gameplay mechanic. You tap the screen and things happen. In this case, you’re mining through several levels of a mine. Each floor is made out of different materials and has a different amount of “health” you have to mine through. You’ll upgrade your pickaxe in order to do more damage and get through tougher floors, and you can even recruit some help that will passively mine through the floor.
The game’s progresses at a snail’s pace, however. I never felt like I’d ever reach a point where I’d be able to start over for any additional perks - though I also never saw an option to do that. That just means digging always felt like a chore. It would take minutes for my hired help to dig through a floor alone, and the reward was always less than a hundred coin when my next upgrade cost at least 5000 coins. Now, you can always watch video ads to earn some extra coin, but it’ll never be to the extent that you see in some games. You’ll, at most, earn extra gold for 45 seconds.
Overall, Tap Tap Dig - Idle Clicker Game is looking like a good clicker, though I feel like the rate in which you earn coin could be upped substantially. As it stands now, you plateau in the game quickly and really have to dig your way out through manual clicking, which is a definite chore.
