Excellent video interface, auto video play while browsing, modern design
Occasional lags and buffering issues, kills your battery
Vine for Android makes sharing short videos fun and easy. Think of it as Twitter meets YouTube.
Vine is a fun timekiller. I actually like it a lot more than Twitter, because the posts don’t seem as redundant and are actually quite entertaining. The basic concept is to shoot a short video of something and share it with the world. The videos are literally only a few seconds long and can be funny, artistic, informative, or just an utter waste of time.
The interface is very nicely presented and the steps required to create your video are easy to follow. Once you’re happy with it, you can save and share it a multitude of ways, and post it directly to Vine’s website where users can find and comment on it.
I loved browsing all the Vine videos within the app because they begin playing automatically as each clip comes into the center of the screen. Since the videos are so small and short, most of them begin playing immediately with little to no buffering issues. Just scroll through the top videos, search favorite subjects or look at what’s trending. The app is very lightweight and snappy, making browsing a pleasure and inviting discovery.
Vine is an interesting social media entertainment app. The best part is the videos are short, so if you don’t find something funny or interesting, it won’t last long before it’s over. There’s some really creative stuff out there and it’s good for a laugh. This app functions well and is sure to entertain.
