Fun character design, incredible gameplay mechanics
Boring level design, no customization
Are you itching to get back into your angsty teenage years? Probably not, but I promise playing as a rebellious teenage dragon is a lot more fun than the thought of going back to highschool. In Drag’n’Boom for Android, you’ll play as a teenage dragon who is on a path to destroy anything and everything in his path so you can steal all your neighbors’ gold.
This game has one of the most fun and engaging control mechanics that I’ve played on a mobile game. You don’t necessarily control where the dragon flies. Instead, you manipulate the dragon almost like a pinball. Like the name implies, you’ll drag and fling the dragon into any direction you want. You can hold down to slow things down, too. Tapping on the right side of the screen and doing the same flicking motion will produce a fireball. You’ll have to use both of these moves together to dispatch enemies and complete levels.
As you play through the game, you’ll unlock new fireballs, which makes the gameplay stay pretty interesting. And it’s really fun trying to juggle enemies into the air after you’ve hit them for score multipliers, too. My biggest complaint is that level design isn’t too imaginative. Every level I played could be pretty interchangeable and I would never have known any different.
I had a blast playing Drag’n’Boom. It’s definitely one of the better mobile arcade games I’ve played recently. Gameplay is fast paced and really fun, plus I think the game’s mechanics are some of the most interesting I’ve seen.
