Just taking a look at the screenshots, you might accidentally mistake Kami 2 for Android as a wallpaper app. It’s just that pretty. But what is it in reality? It’s a really good looking puzzle game that starts off a bit too simple, but can sometimes end up blowing your mind with the complexity and stunning visuals - have I mentioned how nice this game looks?
Like most puzzle games on phones, this is a pretty simple game, mechanically speaking. Each puzzle consists of shapes displayed in different colors. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll notice you have access to each of the colors on the screen and you can change any of the current colors to any other available colors. On the bottom left of the screen, you’ll see you have a number. This number indicates the amount of moves you have to complete the color. The goal is to turn the entire screen one color.
One of the things I like about this game is how many gameplay options you have. You can play a typical “campaign” where the difficulty ramps up. I played this for a while, but the difficulty curve is actually pretty flat. I perfected every level I played and didn’t really feel challenged. Fortunately there are daily levels you can play, and if you’re feeling really adventurous, you have the ability to make your own levels.
I felt like Kami 2 was truly a unique puzzle experience. Well, as long as you ignore the fact that this is actually the second game in the series. The visuals are astounding and the gameplay is really fun and thought provoking.
