Great charm and personality, fun gameplay, tons of levels
Slow difficulty ramp up
What does the fox say?! A shameless confession, The Fox song by Ylvis played through my head almost the entire time I played through What, The Fox? for Android. I’ll let you know upfront that they’re not related in the slightest. This is a fun puzzle game where the main objective has you moving around critters in various ways to get to a hole in the ground. And it’s a pretty fun one, too.
Puzzle games pretty much reign supreme on the Android platform (and mobile platforms in general). So it really takes a lot of effort to make a game stand out from the rest of the crowd. Thankfully for developers Infinity Fox, they managed to nail it. This is a charming but challenging puzzle game where you must navigate each fox into the whole.
You’ll start off with one fox and only one path to follow, but as you progress through the game you’ll soon uncover there are four paths to take in each level, and you’ll unlock more foxes as you go. Having more foxes doesn’t just mean you have to think about how you’re going to get them all in the hole, you also have to figure out how you can use them in coordination to do it.
The game has a lot of flair and style which really adds to the whole charm. I never felt like I was playing a clone of another popular game. What, The Fox? always had a personality and identity all its own.
