Responsive controls, good character customization
Levels feel too similar, limited to one level per week
If you find competitive multiplayer games to be fun then you need to check out GetMeBro! for Android. It’s a highly competitive runner that features weekly maps that require you learn inside and out, devising strong strategies that you can then take online in heated head-to-head matches.
Here’s a mobile game that seems real simple from the outside, but becomes more complex the deeper you get into it. Learning the ins-and-outs of each map is only the beginning. You can also customize your character and unlock new abilities to help you succeed, and you’ll need to use these to help tailor your character to the specific strategies you develop.
There are three different game modes you can play: a solo run, a competitive mode, and private matches. Everything plays out how you’d expect, given the name. Solo allows you to learn the maps so you aren’t surprised when you go into head-to-head matches in the competitive mode. And you can play any map you want with friends in private matches.
Each week you’ll get access to a new map with the idea being that you really learn and master each map in order to be viable in multiplayer. If you’re not into competitive play then this is where you’ll find the first hangup. Only being able to play one map per week is a pretty big letdown.
GetMeBro! is a good competitive game that has long legs, but some questionable design decisions. Having only one map to play will lose casual players, but fortunately, this is a competitive game.
