A jungle themed match three

Bright and colorful graphics, hundreds of levels
Not innovative, gameplay blends in with every other match three game
If you’re itching for a new match three game to play then feast your eyes on Jungle Mash for Android. It’s a new match three puzzle game created by the same folks that developed Fruit Bump and Jungle Mash, and while those games were well received, does this game do anything to separate itself from the pack?
In short, no. If you’re looking for a unique match three experience then you’re not going to find it here. Jungle Mash is your very, very typical match three. You can move individual shapes up or down to match with identical shapes in groups of three or more. Matching four or more will get you a cool power-up that will up your high score. Much like the typical match three experience, as you get further into the game, you’ll have to destroy objects in order to beat the levels.
The good news is that if this is your jam then there is plenty of it here. You’ve got a bright, colorful jungle aesthetic and hundreds of levels you can play through. There are bonus levels you can unlock and golden idols that you can spend time collecting. The level design does end up getting pretty interesting, which is one positive. You won’t be simply matching gems in regular grids.
Looking at Jungle Mash in a vacuum, it’s a very good match three game. But when I take off my blinders I can’t help but wish Twimler would have spent time trying to innovate in this space rather than making yet another match three game that is just par for the course at this point.
