Review The Sandbox Evolution - Craft!
A broken and messy sandbox

Excellent premise, cool art design
Extremely buggy, poor ui, confusing tutorials
Truth be told, I didn’t really get The Sandbox Evolution for Android. It could be because the game is a buggy mess or it could be because the game really didn’t seem to be structured together in a truly comprehensible. Either way, this was a sandbox game that looked really good on paper but fell flat on its face the moment it began walking down the figurative runway.
The first few times I tried to start up a game in Sandbox, the game just didn’t want to work. The game crashed on me the first time I opened it. The second time I gave it a shot, the entire screen was black, aside from the UI, making the game totally unplayable. Even just moving around on the screen would create artifacts that just threw off my entire experience with the game.
When I made it through the tutorial, I was presented with a campaign that would take me through even more features of the game - not something I was looking forward to after completing an already painstaking tutorial. Worse yet, the first mission didn’t explain anything and lead me to create something completely unusable because the game just doesn’t explain itself well.
Ideally, you’ll create worlds by experimenting with different resources. What ended up happening, in my experience, is every world I would try to build would just be set ablaze out of frustration because the game just doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to.
If I was being really mean, I’d call The Sandbox Evolution an unplayable mess. Games should be coded well enough to not have to go through such hassles just to complete the tutorial mission. I wish I could say that I was alone in my pains and frustrations, but after reading through some of the Play Store reviews, I quickly affirmed my fears.
